Having yourself or your child registered is not an authorization to treat.  It is information EMS can receive quickly on the treatment needed.  To date, Oregon has not passed legislation nor updated their Scope of Practice to allow for administration of patient-carried, time critical, specialty prescription medications.  Having a Treatment Plan with your most local EMS Service(s) is the best way to assure proper treatment from that service will take place.
